Do you need reservations for the Louvre?
If you have a Paris museum pass will you need a reservation for the Louvre?

No and in fact there is no such thing as a 'reservation' for the louvre. You can buy timed tickets or untimed tickets or you can just show up and buy tickets there or use a museum pass. The only advantage of the pass is that you can use a designated security line at the Pyramid for ticket and pass holders and it might be shorter than the line for those without, but probably not much. Or you can enter using other entrances where lines for security might be shorter. The Richelieu entrance used to be available to pass holders so you could try that; the rules on this change all the time. The pass itself is not needed till you enter one of the wings of the museum and I have never seen a line for that of more than half a dozen people.

We usually go in through the underground shopping mall. If you're there on a light day, there may be no waiting in the security line at all. On heavy days it will still be better than coming in through the pyramid.

Hi Jim, no reservations but a lot depends on the month, day, time of day... We were in Paris last week and visited the Louvre twice (with the Museum Pass). There was no wait at either the mall or pyramid entrances. Be sure to show your pass. There was a line at the pyramid for those without tickets.

Same goes for other museums and sites too. Long line at the Arc de Triomphe, we showed our Passes and walked right by 200 people. The Orsay has a special entrance on the right side of the building for Pass holders. Research the museum’s websites and look for the signs. Have a great trip!

I went to the Louvre on Friday , 2 days ago. Got there at 9 AM very short line. Had my museum pass , walked right in. Used the pyramid entrance. Had planned to go in the underground because I heard it was shorter but there was no need
