Do we need to show ID (passport) at Louvre, Versailles, Eiffel Tower along with our timed tickets?

We have timed tickets for the above. Do we need to be prepared to show some type of ID?
Have you experienced having to provide ID at any of the main attractions in Paris?

Thanks much

We come to Paris a couple of times a year and have never yet been asked for any ID with tickets at any site. I carry my passport card but again, no one has ever asked for ID. The only time we ever needed to show a passport was on a train when the conductor required our granddaughter's passport to make sure she was the person listed on the ticket. The tickets were all 'adult' tickets and I suspect that was why -- she was 12. We would never take a trip out of town without passports anyway but we keep them stowed in the apartment when we are in Paris.

No and no. I’ve never been asked for my passport anywhere except the hotel registration.

HOWEVER I do always have my passport with me to prove I’ve been admitted to the country and for valid ID if asked. I carry it securely either in a money belt or in a secured zippered pocket in my purse.

This may start the usual discussion on carrying passport vs leaving it in your room.
