Though I've had experience with metros in other parts of Europe, I've not been to France.
I'm planning a trip to France with my wife and son with time in Paris for next May/June 2027. If you have experience with the Paris Metro, do you recommend a Navigo Card (thinking of between 4-5 days in Paris.

Yes, definitely. Even for 4-5 days, a Navigo Découverte can be a good buy. Depends on your travel style. If you only need a few tickets, a Navigo Easy is the way to go.
We visit Paris regularly. I have a Navigo card loaded into my iPhone wallet which I find very handy- it's easy to add individual tickets or a pass depending on how much you plan to use it. Also recommend the Bonjour RATP app for help with routing etc. I know not everyone is comfortable using their phone to pay for things but this has worked very well for us.
I totally rely on the Navigo Card in Paris since I use both the bus lines and the Metro, carry 3 , load them up so that I am not caught unawares by an empty card at the turn stile.
There are several products. The Navigo card is for local residents only. The Navigo Decouverte loads passes - daily, weekly or monthlly and is not a tourist product but tourists can buy and use it; it is not sold at the airports. The Navigo Easy card loads tickets (and day passes) and is used if your time frame doesn't match the weekly pass.

You can add the equivalent to what the Navigo Easy card holds to the Apple Wallet; allowing you to purchase Day passes or the Paris Visite passes, as well as all of the ticket options. However, you cannot add the Navigo Découverte passes to the Apple Wallet; baring your purchasing/using the Navigo weekly pass (32.40€) or the Navigo Monthly pass (90.80€).
