Discounts for college students and 65+ ??

If anyone has any permission about special discounts for anything in Paris or the surrounding area, including transportation and admissions, I would appreciate the information. I can't seem to findtoo much information about that. Many years ago I traveled to Europe when I was a teacher and I do remember bringing an extra passport photo with me, but can't remember the details.

Thank you very much- Merci!

There are generally not discounts for seniors (some on train transport but not local trains) but for local transport in Paris, or the Ile de France, there are no discounts for senior tourists. For admissions to museums there are generally no senior discounts (many in Spain, not in France); we have occasionally found discounts for minor exhibits -- a couple of photo exhibits -- and got them just by asking. Young people from the EU under 26 get free admissions; for Americans, the age is 17 and under although there are free admissions on weekends for all young people.

But for the most part -- no senior discounts.

SNCF offers senior discounts (60+) on some trains. We got a little off on Paris-Munich.

Yes longer some trains definitely -- but they also restrict when you can travel. When we went to Rouen we could not travel back Sunday evening during 'prime time' but had to travel either early or late. Basically commuter times and very popular early evening times on weekends are blacked out. When you get the senior discount tickets they give you a little flyer that indicates when you cannot travel with these cheaper tickets.
