Bonjour,
I will be arriving at Charles de Gaulle airport October 15 to spend the first half of my monthly trip in the south of France. I would like to get over jet lag in Lyon. How do I get to Gare de Lyon from CDG airport to take the train to Lyon and how long should it take. If it makes sense to make other arrangements please advise. Merci beaucoup.
The easiest would be to take the train direct from the airport to Lyon and not go in to Paris.
I looked at Trainline and saw a couple of dozen non-stop trains to Lyon from CdG, at varying prices and at various times. I use Trainline because it is easier to get information than from SNCF sites. Purchases through Trainline incur a small fee.
If you can get a train from CDG about 3 hours after your ETA that would be perfect. -- Otherwise take the RER to Gare de Lyon and get a train about 4 hours after your ETA. I also use trainline because it is so much more user friendly than the SCNF site. You can instantly see the costs and the options for time.
Everyone,
Thank you for your responses. I did not know I could get the train to Lyon at CDG airport. I did used Trainline to make my reservation and you're right, much easier than SNCF. I probably know this but what is ETA?
Thank you again everyone.
Ingrid
Estimated Time of Arrival would be the use of ETA here. Used by other companies/programs as well with different meanings.
Thank you brushtim for the explanation of ETA.
