Hello,
I am going to a conference in Angouleme and will be using a transfer company from Paris to Terminal 2 at CDG. I am unsure of how I will find the train platform at Terminal 2 from where people are dropped off. I Would appreciate information on how I maneuver through the terminal to locate the train platforms.
Can’t you take a train to Angouleme from Paris? Why add the step of going from Paris to CDG to catch a train?
Agree with JHK. A quick glance at the SNCF website showed multiple trains from Paris to Angoulème; all leaving from Gare Montparnasse. A simple metro ot taxi ride from the OPs Paris hotel.
The conference I am attending arranged the train from CDG, I am arriving in Paris one day prior to departing by train to Angouleme.
OK. In that case, this link may be helpful: https://easycdg.com/travelling-terminal-2-tgv-rer-station-cdg-airport/
You really will have to pay attention and look for signage or hope that someone here has traveled to CDG to catch the train. All directions I know of including the ones linked above presume that you are approaching from an arriving flight. You may want to have the driver drop you off at arrivals, walk inside and then look for the signs that say train. The train station is located beneath Terminals 2C-2F. I think it would be way easier if you took the RER to the airport to connect to the Grand Lignes (SNCF) trains. Have you considered ditching the transfer to CDG and just buying your own ticket to Angouleme from Paris? How much does the transfer cost versus the cost of the ticket to Angouleme from Paris?
Would it be possible to rebook the ticket? Otherwise, ditch the transfer company and take the train from Paris to the airport, then you'll end up at the station and it will be an easy change.
If you do it early enough, you can purchase a TGV ticket from Paris to Angoulême for the price of a taxi from Paris to CDG airport. Therefore I would take the train from Paris and make my life easier!
Just buying a new ticket to Angouleme would definitely be what I would do. But if you’re set on heading back to the airport, I would just go to the Sheraton - if you’re in a taxi, have them drop you there. We stay there often. Walk out the lobby doors into the airport access exit and you’re right at the train station. You’re just one floor up - and you’re looking right at some escalators that go to the train station boards directing you to trains.
And a note on Angouleme - it’s a fantastic city!!! The architecture is amazing.
