Dinner in Amboise

Looking for a restaurant in Amboise. Nothing upscale, just classic good food. Thanks!

You´re not going to find upscale in the tiny town of Amboise. I can recommend either le Parvis or la Fourchette.

Another vote for Chez Bruno!

My daughter and I enjoyed two delicious dinners there! Reservations recommended.

Restaurant Le36 is getting good reviews http://www.le36-amboise.fr. It's associated with Le Choiseul.

Otherwise, Chez Bruno and le Parvis are the best you will find.

Hippeau is changeable (although the only times I have eaten there it was decidedly average) and most of the rest are pizza.

In 2018, my AirBNB host recommended Les Arpents and it was so good I dined there twice for lunch and again for dinner. I also enjoyed another lunch at L’Ecluse although a little further walk from the main square. Reservations are smart at both.

What sort of prices (in euros) are we looking at for these restaurants? We were fortunate to have kitchen facilities when we were in Amboise so didn't eat out. I am curious as it is a town where dining seems targeted at tourists. So do the restaurants nudge up the prices or do they try and be competitive?

In 2014 we visited Amboise and had a great dinner at L'Ancree des Artistes - as recommended in the 2014 Rick Steves' France Guide.
