Bonjour! We are going to be in Paris near the Latin Quarter for a few days prior to our Rick Steve's France trip.
I see some dining restaurants in the Rick Steve's travel book - was wondering if any of you wonderful travelers might have any feedback or additional options for dining in Paris, particularly in that Latin Quarter area. Any "not to miss" dining for a short 2 full days would be appreciated. THANKS so much, Nancy
Nancy, if you're looking for something a bit nicer than the usual cafe or brasserie, I can recommend Hestia. Great service and food, lively dining room. One of my top meals in Paris in April. Don't let it's location put you off
We found Les Papilles http://www.lespapillesparis.fr/ in the Rick Steves book years ago. We go to dinner there every time we’re in Paris. It’s a limited farm to table menu and a very small space but we’ve never been disappointed. We’ve sent friends they’re also and they always report having a great experience.
These are my favorite restaurants in the northern part of the 5th (Latin Quarter):
Lilane
narro
Hugo & Co
Au Moulin à Vent
Nossa Churrasqueira - very casual Portuguese chicken
Of note on the southern side of the 5th:
Orphée
La Forge
With regards to the restaurants Tocard recommends, I enjoyed dinners at both Lilane and La Forge in 2023.
I returned to the more relaxed La Forge this past April and the dining room was practically empty on a Saturday evening. Nothing like the lively restaurant from 2 years ago.
Thanks very much to everyone for their suggestions! I appreciate it! Nancy
Polidor is a traditional recommend

Also looks for vlogs from Jay Swanson for some ideas, especially if you want to be drinking (he's very into that).
