I'm going to take the train on a Sunday in April from Dijon, France to Freiburg, Germany. Since I'll be getting a ride to Dijon that day, I would rather purchase the ticket there, not knowing my ride time yet. Will there be a big difference in cost if I wait?
And, are there any concerns of getting on a train on a Sunday in April? (is it ever sold out?) Since I have a reservation for staying in Freiburg I want to be sure I can get there, reasonably early in the day. A this point it looks like I can depart at either 7:52 am or Noon.
Thanks for any tips!
Looks to me like the cheapest and fastest (save a late direct train) would be the 13:02 TGV changing to a regional train at Mulhouse. As low as 27.60 on April 12.
Thanks, now I've found this. For some reason I hadn't seen the route via Mulhouse. Thank you!
Yes, trains can sell out on a Sunday, but normally later in the day as that's when people return from weekend trips. Since you are looking at a TGV, and one that avoids traveling back through Paris, your train could be a popular one, and you should buy your ticket in advance.
