We will be dropping friends in Dijon to train back to Paris and fly home. We are looking for a hotel and restaurant recommendation for one night. Hotel under 100 E a night and good local flavor restaurant.

About how much do you want to spend in the restaurant, per person in euros?
And what part of town is your lodging?

I don't have lodging yet. It's for travel in October. I'm just beginning to figure out the city but I believe the Old Town area. It is my understanding that it is walking distance to the train station. I'm trying to find an area that will be easy to drive to as we avoid driving in cities.
The dinner will be a "splurge" night for us so around 100 E give or take. Does that sound reasonable?

With a car, you'll want to avoid driving in the Dijon city center.
The ideal lodging would provide secure overnight parking and would probably be away from the city center.

Check out the Kyriad Hotel very near the railroad Station and a short walk to town centre.

For good Dijon restaurants in your price range, look at these 5, recommended by Michelin in their "Bib Gourmands" category:
The prices are per person, and after you add the cost of wine, should be close to your 100 euros total.
The next step up in quality (and price) would be for you to use the same website to specify Michelin one-star restaurants. But brace yourself for the prices. And those are only the one-stars (which is a very good rating in France).

if you're willing to have one of those once-in-a-lifetime type meals, a shortish drive outside Dijon is the Abbaye de la Bussiere. Great setting, fantastic grounds, full blown full course French meal. Wonderful.
