Difficulties Getting To/From CDG airport this weekend (Feb 17-18)

Due to construction along the RER B, you won't be able to go from central Paris out to the airport as normal on Saturday and Sunday Feb 17 and 18. (They will be running shuttle bus replacements along the part of the track, so you can actually get to the airport , but it will take a lot longer, so plan accordingly!

(Same closures on weekend of Feb 24-25, too.)

In addition, on Saturday 2/17 the "VTC" drivers (Uber, Lyft, etc) are staging a strike, including protest action , where they're going to block the road accesses in to the city with their "opération escargot" tactics (go-slow and keep the roads as blocked as possible).

So allow LOTS of time to/from CDG/Roissy this weekend. Sorry for the bad news. Hopefully the VTC/Uber strike won't be so bad, I'll try to update tomorrow.

Hi Kim, thank you for the info. It’s so helpful to have someone “reporting” from Paris!

Kim, is this when Bus No. 350 or 351 would be useful or would the escargot guys block these buses as well? They are, after all mostly used by airport employees, I think.

I should think that the RATP bus from Aulnay sous Bois, which is scheduled to take 45 minutes to reach CDG, will still be significantly faster that 350 or 351, either of which makes a huge number of stops en route to CDG.

Accordingto Europe 1, the VTC drivers will NOT be blocking traffic going TO CDG. Cross your fingers that it does work that way for anyone rushing to catch a flight.

I never noticed a HUGE number of stops on the way to CDG when we take the 351 but maybe I was not paying attention. It is a bus the airport employees seem to use however, At any rate the average time of the journey was about 60 minutes.

Norma -- You're right, I think the 350 or 351 would be less affected since it does so much of its route on surface roads rather than the A1 -- although it does join the A1, if I remember correctly, for an interim part and the final part to the airport. But my GUESS is that it would be rather less hindered by this weekend's shenanigans.

Yes, Bets is right, the VTCs have only so far talked about heading FROM CDG into the city with their go-slow. Sometimes these things take on a life of their own though. Will turn on the news in the morning and see how it's looking.
