Details of Paris Metro strike for Friday Sept 13

Ten metro lines will be totally closed:
2
3
3bis
5
6
7bis
10
11
12
13

The following lines will be partially open, only during rush hour:
4
7
8

The automated lines 1 and 14 will supposedly roll as normal (but I wouldn’t count on being able to squash yourself into one).

RER A: one train out of every three will run

RER B (within Paris): one train out of every five will run. No connection at Gare du Nord between the city portion of the RER run by the RATP and the suburban portion run by the SNCF.

Bus and tramway traffic also to be “very disturbed” with one-third of normal vehicles/trams running.

This one is a doozy.

Concretely, anyone who was planning to rely on public transportation in Paris that day to get to an airport or a train station should book a taxi, and do so now - there is a finite number of taxis. Allowing for significantly longer travel times.

Fond memories of the SNCF strike which extended over months -- some trains, some days.
