Destination Wedding in Paris

My daughter would like to have a destination wedding in Paris in late July or early August 2015. Eight people in the two families would be attending. They'll do a civil ceremony in the US to handle the legal aspects before going to France. I have a few questions:
1. Where in Paris (or outside of Paris) would be a good location for the ceremony (not including a church)?
2. Is it feasible to do this in July or August in Paris, or is it too hot and crowded?
3. What might be nice places to stay for the 2 families?

Oh wow! What fun!
If it were me, I'd head to a chateau for my wedding in France! There are many that are privately owned that will allow weddings on the grounds. With such a small gathering it should be no problem. After that it depends on how grand you want to go. There are many large and small chateaux in the Loire Valley of course - that isn't terribly far from Paris. This property is owned by the Landmark Trust and is just southwest of Paris by RER - about 40 minutes. Three buildings can be reserved for sleeping and you could also use one to prep for the wedding. It was the weekend geteaway for King Edward and Wallace Simpson after he abdicated and they moved to Paris. It is attached to a small chateau that is quite lovely and I believe you can have weddings there?? You'd need to ask but it would be a beautiful setting in the Chevreuse Valley and quite close to Paris.

Many owners of small chateau rent their chateau for weekend weddings where you rent the whole chateau and use all the bedrooms, the grounds, the chapel. For a small wedding, you may want to look at Relais et Chateaux, a group of quality hotel/restaurants, many in former chateau: http://www.relaischateaux.com/en/

The hotel may be able to help with details such as catering, decor, finding an officiant.
