We've been booked by Virgin Atlantic to fly Delta Airlines from CDG to SLC.
Delta's website baggage info US to EU is confusing. It says "FREE (MC/DC+);
60 USD, 75 CAD,50 EUR (BE ONLY)", I've no idea what "MC/DC+" is supposed to mean.
Anybody know if theres a charge to check a bag?
MC=Main Cabin DC=Delta Comfort. BE=Basic Economy
Which Fare did you buy of the 3?
MC = Main Cabin
DC+ = Delta Comfort
BE = Basic Economy
If the ticket is Basic Economy, you pay. Others are free. So now you just have to figure out if you have a Basic Economy ticket.
I suspect you didn’t since this sounds like your first flight on Delta but if you use the Delta-branded American Express card (Gold, Platinum or Reserve levels) to purchase you also get a free checked bag.
BTW, the direct flights to/from SLC and Europe are awesome. There are not many International flights landing in SLC so not much line at Immigration and an easy airport to navigate. The only downside is if you are catching a commuter flight to a smaller Western market the last ones of the day leave in the 9-10PM range and you will have missed the midday flights so you may have a looong and boring layover.
If it is Delta 249, it appears 'main cabin' is the lowest class seat on that flight.
As I read it, one gets one free checked bag of up to 50 lb.
If all else fails, call Delta
Thanks, All. We're on Delta 249.
If you have the once a day nonstop, count your blessings & stop worrying about the trivial.
