deGaulle airport to St. Lazare station

Hello everyone:

We're traveling to France on July 13, arriving at deGaulle airport that day and taking a train to Bayeux for a tour of the D-Day beaches, etc. Our travel agent has arranged train tickets from St. Lazare station to Bayeux, but how to we get to St. Lazare after a (probably) sleepless night on the plane?Taxi?

A fast read of the RER tiny map looks like a train from de Gaulle to St. Lazare is complicated.

Thanks, everyone.

The easiest way is simply by taxi. Use only the taxis at the official queue outside the terminal. It should be a fixed rate (€50 to the St Lazare side of the Seine IIRC). MUCH easier than being jet lagged and bringing luggage into RER trains and metros. I sincerely hope that your flight isn't late and you don't run into traffic delays. Booking advance train tickets for arrival day is always a risk. Best of luck.

Indeed, it’s a flat-rate 50€ for a taxi from CDG to Gare St Lazare for up to four people and their luggage.

Is a taxi also flat rate in the reverse direction, from Gare Saint Lazare to CDG?

I need to do that on Thursday October 10.

Thank you.

I agree that fresh from landing a taxi is by far the easiest option but just to lay out all the options.

Opera is about a ten minute - 600m - walk from Gare St. Lazare and you can take the Roissy bus from CDG to Opera or vice versa.
The bus is €12.50 a person.

There are also several RER options:
- RER A to Chateau-Les Halles and then RER B to CDG
- Metro 14 to Chateau and then to Les Halles for RER B to CDG
- RER E to Gare Magenta/Gare du Nord and then RER B to CDG

Many people don't like Chateau-Les Halles because it is a big and busy station, but there are public transportation options.
Since they have locked the price of the airport trip the convenience oftens trumps the 30 or so euros you might save using public transportation but you always can.
