Decision Paris hotel in 7th

We plan to spend 5 additional nights in Paris at the end of a tour (not R.S) September 2019. We have previously been to Paris and so do not feel the need to visit all the key museums. Therefore we have chosen to stay in the 7th arrondissement, in close proximity to the Eiffel Tower. We stayed in the 7th on our first trip to Paris.
I've narrowed it down to 2 hotels with breakfast. And since I'm an "over-analyzer," would welcome opinions of people who have stayed at one or both of the hotels. Price in September is about the same for both.
Hotel Relais Bosquet: Closer to Metro Stop. Price is about 100 euros higher per day in September than in August. Room size about 22 meter square. Has a small patio/courtyard.
Hotel Londres Eiffel: Looking at a tiny room (134 ft. square) on 5th floor because it comes with view of "top" of Eiffel Tower. Farther from Metro stop, but closer to Eiffel Tower. Description says the hotel is "immaculate." I like that. One oddity is that you cannot bring in any outside food.
Both listed in RS 2016 book. I've read the reviews on TA, and am still having a difficult time deciding.

Stayed at Hotel Londres Eiffel this past July with the Rick Steve's tour. The hotel is perfect. Treated myself to a 3 night pre tour stay
in one of the two, 6th floor ( top flour) Eiffel Tour view rooms. It was magical! The room felt like a perfect Parisian garret. One simply
opens the windows, no screens, for the Eiffel Tower view and when the Tower sparkles at the top of the hour for 5 minutes it is
breathtaking.
Believe the rule with not bringing in food results in the description of "immaculate". In my memory along the side street there are at least
5 restaurants and around the corner an equal number.
I recommend the Hotel Londres Eiffel and its staff without reservation and dream of returning.

I stay in a hotel in the 7th that also has a similar policy about bringing in food . They do allow it if you confine it to the breakfast room and leave no mess behind . There is a sink and counter with soap , and this seems very reasonable and appropriate . The hotel is always spotless and charming . I am back there next week for my fourth stay .

We’ve stayed at Relais Bosquet twice and enjoyed it. Good location, quiet and clean. Breakfast very good. We have not stayed at Londres Eiffel.

Like Alan, we have only stayed at the Relais Bosquet but loved it. We’ve stayed 3 times. The smallest room, however, is just too small, so step up to the next level. Not sure which level your 22 sq meter room would be so compare.

I love the Hotel Londres et Eiffel. The place is immaculate. I and two relatives stayed there in May 2017 in three ET view rooms and we all loved it. We went by to visit our front desk person this past May. That is how terrific he (Cedric) was. It's not odd that you cannot bring food into a hotel. The hotel does not offer room service and so may not want to have to clean up meals in the rooms. What kind of food are you thinking of bringing in? Some fruit you bought from around the corner, a chocolate bar, etc. -- we brought that type of stuff in without hiding them and it was not a problem but we never brought in a meal. I did see a couple bring in a meal but they asked to eat the breakfast room and were graciously allowed to do so.

I stayed at the Hotel Relais Bosquet and have only good things to say about it. The Breakfast is very well done and the location quite convenient. Top floor rooms also have a view of the Eiffel Tower.

I liked this hotel so much, that I was a little disappointed that I had to stay in the Montmarte area with a Rick Steves Tour the next time I went. (B Montmarte). Guess what? I shouldn't have worried about leaving the 7th. That B Montmarte was a great hotel as well and I could get to the Eiffel Tower area through the Trocadero in just about 10 minutes by bus.

I have learned that the key is being near a good metro stop and having a great place to come "home" to each day.

I honestly believe you can have a wonderful trip at either the Hotel Relais Bosquet or Hotel Londres Eiffel.

Have stayed at Londres Eiffel while on an RS tour. I asked Cedric if I could eat my afternoon snack in the breakfast room, and he said that would be fine. I loved this hotel—very charming.

Good to hear from those of you who have stayed in the two hotels I listed. Of course, all of your comments were favorable to both places.
DH votes for Hotel Londres Eiffel, so that's where I'll book.
JHK and Rachel: I am reassured to know that IF we brought in a snack, we would be able to eat it in the breakfast room. We buy apples for snacks...not to eat in the room, but when we are out and about.
I had never seen "no outside food" listed on any other hotel website. That's why I thought it was odd. Anyway, I wouldn't want to eat a heavy snack in a tiny room.

Carol, Your DH made a great choice. I hope you enjoy your stay at the hotel. If it matters, Londres Eiffel is currently ranked 13th or 1,820 hotels in Paris on TripAdvisor.

JHK: Yes, I did note the Trip Advisor ranking for Hotel Londres Eiffel. Pretty impressive. Question for you about the Eiffel Tower View rooms. I notice that those rooms are the same size. Were there two of you in the room? And, was there room for 2 suitcases?

We each had our own room. My sister and sister-in-law were on the top floor and I was one floor below them. My room would have been okay for two people but was not overwhelmingly spacious if you know what I mean. I had a backpack and two suitcases on arrival -- one suitcase was empty because a friend asked me to buy a bag for her and I wanted to bring it back as packaged in the store. I kept one suitcase by the side of the bed and the other in the closet/wardrobe but I could have probably kept them both in the closet. Neither suitcase was huge though (a carryon and a slightly larger bag). If you go to the website, I had the room with the acrylic chair and the picture pretty well captures the amount of space. If someone were in the room with me and one of us was sitting at the chair, the other person, if of average build, would not have space to pass between the foot of the bed and the chair. The space on the sides of the bed is about the same as the space between the foot of the bed and the wall. One more thing that might matter for two but did not matter for me: there was only one chair in my room. It was a lovely room with a window that looked out on the street and a very nice bathroom. The thing about the hotel is that it is very charming and neat. I have been to all three properties owned by this family and all have that same charming, family feel.

I'll just add that the breakfast room is smallish (but not as small as ~some~ Paris hotel breakfast rooms, lol) so if there is an RS tour staying there, I'd recommend either getting down right when they open OR waiting until closer to the end of breakfast. There should be a daily itinerary for the tour group posted near the front desk so you can see what time they are supposed to leave for the day and figure your breakfast time from there.

Many like the Cafe Constant restaurant right next door (altho it faces on to Rue Saint-Dominique). There are also a number of restaurants along that street as well. I really like the Gusto Italia at the other end of the street. There are 2, one on the corner which is more takeaway but does have tables but not a lot of ambiance and one across the street that is more a restaurant and nicer atmosphere. Food is good at both.

Apparently food is on my mind, haha.

We had a very nice stay at the Relais Bosquet, although it was a few years ago. It was a great location and the staff members were very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and comfortable room and we had an Eiffel Tower view from our window. I recall the breakfast being quite nice.

I just wanted to add that there is a laverie (laundromat) directly across the street from the Hotel Londres Eiffel which can be important after the tour and 5 days to go. I always pack powdered laundry soap in a ziplock bag and dryer softener sheets when I travel.

Be careful about adding laundry soap to your wash . More launderettes add the soap automatically now , so be certain yours is not one before adding it .
