Hi!

sure, did it in April. TGV from Gare de l'Est and arrival at Reims; I did Veuve Clicquot (Tattinger is closed for construction, btw), saw the cathedral, the roman ruins, the Veuve's replacement house, an abandoned house or two, went to the Museum of the Rendition (Where Germany surrendered to Ike in WWII). Nice day trip.
I've done three day trips to Reims by train. It has aways been super easy. As mentioned above go to Gare de l'Est and take the train to Reims. I like to buy my tickets ahead of time and have them on my phone or printed out because I hate dealing with ticket machines. For our first trip, we went to the Taittinger cellars. We had children with us and that tour is (was) child-friendly or maybe the right phrase is child-interesting. We made our reservations on line and took a taxi to the champagne house from the train station. Someone at the house called for taxi for us at the end of the tour and we went to the cathedral and ate lunch in the afternoon and then walked to the train station from there and headed back to Paris. The second and third trips were, me, sister and my BFF one year and a couple of years later, me and three friends. For those two trips, we took the train to Reims and met up with a half-day, mini-van tour. All three trips were excellent. The mini-van tours took us to very small champagne houses that we would have never found on our own. At the end of the tours, we were dropped off at the train station with plenty of time to catch an early afternoon train back to Paris.
We did it by TGV -- 45 minutes each way. Transport in Reims is easy. Book a cellar tour ahead. We did Taittinger and really enjoyed it. There are many places in town where you can get flights of Champagne or do tastings. (at the houses it is more that you get the number of glasses of Champagne your ticket qualifies for than tastings)

Don't miss the Cathedral of course and. Basillica St. Remi
I recommend the Musee de la Reddition as well as the champagne.
Hello all!
Looking for last minute advice on train travel from the 6th (right next to Sevres metro station) to Reims. I.e. type of ticket to purchase and what line travels to Reim) thank you in advance!
We've had a wonderful week thus far in Paris and decided to take a day trip out of the city today!
Trains to Reims leave from Gare de l'Est, you can book them on SNCF Connect or Trainline (the latter for a very small fee). Make sure you book a train to Reims itself, not to the outlying Champagne Ardenne station. Just book the cheapest ticket; 1st class is useless on such a short journey. Remember that tickets are tied to a specific train, but changes are possible (for a fee if you are less than 7 days from departure).
From Sevres Babylone to Gare de l'Est, I would walk 5 min to Saint Sulpice station on line 4 (or St Placide if nearer), which is a direct ride to Gare de l'Est.
Thank you sooo much Balso!!!
A few follow up questions if you don't mind (we are looking to go this morning!)
On trainline I only see one morning direct train at 1030 - would that seem accurate? And round trip ticket around $70 - accurate?
And finally, have a 1 and 3 year old - do they require tickets (thought no but wanted to double check!)

there's a 704am tomorrow, a 739 am tomorrow, an 827 am tomorrow, etc. $$ varies based on which one you buy, I'm seeing 39E 29E 47E.
Please check for strikes, too.
