My wife and I are going to the Sarlat area for 5 days in mid-June. We are interested in taking some guided tours in the area to maximize our use of limited time, can anyone suggest the best tour companies to use? Any which tour are the best to check out?

While we were on an RS tour in 2019, our guide arranged a ride and tickets for 6 of us to Lascaux Caves. It was fantastic. The company is www.taxialacarte.com. It's a husband/wife team that provide taxi and tour service.
If you have interest, the kayak trip down the Dordogne River is a truly memorable experience. Check the RS guidebook for any tour company recommendations. Some kayak outfitters may pick you up in Sarlat. Lascaux is definitely a must visit, as is Josephine Baker's Chateau Milande and the Jardins Marqueyssac. Don't miss the Sarlat market. The bories du Breuil are a fun stop too. Read Martin Walker's mystery books to set the tone for your visit, not that there frequent murders in the area but it will set the stage for you. The dining and wines are magnificent.
