Day trips from Reims (via train)

Will be arriving few days early for Best of E. France Tour. Looking for ideas for possible day trip outside of Reims, other than Strasbough. Any villages /castles etc. within 1 hr train ride? Thanks.

The local train to Épernay provides some good day trip opportunities: to Épernay itself, and to the vineyards of Montagne de Reims.
If cathedrals are really your thing, you can go to Laon, too.
