Hello, my girlfriend and I are blessed to make another annual trip to Paris. We are looking for day trip recommendations next mid November. We love the gorgeous palaces, wine, champagne, the arts, opera, ballet and shopping of course. We can also do some hiking but may be too chilly for us LA girls - maybe not girls since we're now in our mid 40's. LOL

we have done many visits to small towns or chateaux in November always avoiding rainy days. But a really obvious one is Reims and the Champagne houses. Get a cellar tour (we did Taittiinger because it was the only one we could reserve when we decided to go and it was great. And of course a great Cathedral and a magnificent Basilica.

Another obvious choice is Basilica St. Denis which is on the metro just outside of Paris and the oldest Gothic church in Europe and contains the incredible tombs of the Kings of France. IMHO the most overlooked incredible site in Paris.
