It’s our first European trip since Covid and we’ve finally settled on the south of France. The plan is to fly into Nice and stay in Antibes for a week, making day trips from there. Suggestions for day trips? We’d also like to do a bike ride/tour half day, maybe a hike, vineyards? Biggest question- can we take the train or taxi to the surrounding areas? Are French trains any easier than Italian as far as validating goes?
Many thanks!
We have done two Antibes trips, as we have friends who live there. We have done day trips to Cannes, St Tropez, Juan Les Pins, Bandol, and Cassis to the west, up into Provence as far as Aix, into the hills north of Antibes (Eze, Vence, Grasse, St Paul de Vence), up into the Maritime Alps to the ski area of Valberg, and to the east to Cap Ferrat, Nice, Monaco, and into the Piedmonte region of Italy (St Remo, Ventimiglia, Acuadulce, Apricale). Our friends drove us to most places, though the train is very easy to take to the towns along the coastline.
Thank you!
