We will traveling by train, but would love to see some of the previously suggested hill towns. Has anyone used a tour group for this? Too much for one day or recommended? Thanks!

I stayed in Avignon and bought a half day tour about 8 people that covered Rousillon, Gordes, and Les Baux,
You can look and choose to buy these at the Tourist Information Center about 200 yards from the train station.

So much is easy by local public transport.
L'Isle sur Sorgue by TER local train
Trains also to Arles, Nimes, Montpellier, Aix en Provence
Bus 57 to St Remy (and Les Baux in summer)
