Hello
My son and and I will be visiting Nice in January. We are interested in taking a day trip to Provence to visit some wineries.
Any recommendations on tours that leave from Nice?
We need to be picked up in Nice-we are not renting a car.
Thank you!
I just looked at TripAdvisor and see several options. I have no personal recommendations as we always have a car, but some look quite nice.
Provence is a wide region, starting from across the Var river near the airport and ending near Arles (and quite a ways north, past Orange). I don't have a specific suggestion, as the Provence wine centric tours I've seen from Nice go to the Var (and visit wineries there) or to the Gorge du Verdon. There are also some that stick closer to Nice but are outside of Provence, or you can visit the tiny region within the metro area (Bellet) You may also consider taking a train to Aix or Avignon (the best destination for reds and a number of private tours available, but the furthest away) or Bandol (famous for rose) and take take a tour from there. That may be tough to fit into a day or require a pretty late return, as the train takes a while.
