Visiting Paris in May and am interested in a day trip to Luxembourg City. Is it the visit worth doing and is there a direct train from Paris to Luxembourg City?
There is a direct train from Paris Gare de l'Est to Luxembourg City showing 2h12m. Book on the SNCF-Connect website.
"Worth" is harder to judge for someone else. If I were going to take a 2hr day trip by train, I'd probably choose Colmar (about 2.5 hours) or Bordeaux (about 2 hours). Your trip and your interests might vary from mine. I have been to Luxembourg but it's been a LOOOOONG time, lol. What was intriguing about Luxembourg for you?
Thank you for your reply. I had seen a show that had an episode set there a while ago. Always thought if I got back in the area I would look to see if I could get there. I love old European architecture.
Best!
Luxembourg is very interesting, especially if you like architecture. It is a pretty long train ride though. You may want to consider Nancy, where the Art Deco movement started and where there are many significant buildings to see. Plus Place Stanislas is one of the most attractive plazas in all of Europe.
