Day trip to Giverny - Anyone bike from Vernon to Giverny?

We are interested in biking from Vernon to Giverny. I read in the Rick Steve's guide where to rent a bike. Trying to figure out what to do with it when we arrive in Giverny.

Is there a place to park bikes and is a bike lock needed. If a bike lock is needed, does the rental agency provide one?
Do you ride the same bike back OR do you return the bike once arrived, and then rent another one for the return?

Thanks in advance for your help!

We did a Fat Tire Bike tour and really enjoyed it. We met the guide and group at a train station in Paris and travelled to Vernon. In Vernon we shopped for lunch supplies at the market. We got the bikes, rode a bit to picnic, then continued to Giverny. We visited Monet’s house and garden and the church where he is buried. Returned to Paris a few hours later, very nice. Check it out!

Thanks for the info! We are looking to do a Fat Tire tour in Versailles but would like to do Giverny on our own. Trying to figure out the bike logistics as listed in my original post.

I can't imagine a bike rental agency not providing locks. It would not make sense. Do you have a way to ask the agency?
Otherwise, it is a quick ride, largely on a dedicated path.

Took the Fat Bike Tour last year. There are bike racks at the gardens. No one seemed too concerned about locking the bikes.

We rented bikes in Vernon in May for our Giverny visit. It is an easy ride and would definitely recommend if you are interested. There are 2 places that rent bikes near the train station. We rented from the bike store just down the street from the station, they had bikes including e-bikes and ones with trailers for small children. 10 euro for the rental of a regular bike including a lock and helmet. They will also store bags, we didn’t use storage but I think it was 5 euro a bag. There is a cafe, slightly closer that also rents bikes for the same price. It is an easy ride, almost all flat. We locked our bikes on the road near the entrance, you will see many bikes, there are posts to use, they are easy to see and they are beside where cars park on the road, you use the lock provided. We were on a quick visit to Paris so didn’t have time to ride anywhere other than to Giverny but if you had a bit of extra time the area is quite scenic and there are extensive bike paths.

We rented bikes in July from a company near the train station— Givernon Rental Station— https://location-velo-vernon.fr/

(We didn’t rent from the place that’s also a bar). We got helmets and locks. Also had to leave one driver’s license with them to rent the two bikes, so bring ID! I would say the bike ride there and back was the highlight of our trip to Giverny. Just a beautiful and very easy bike ride! There were places to lock bikes near the entrance to the place (across from the restaurant). The woman at the bike rental place gave us a very simple map that was kind of hard to read.
