Could someone please tell me the easiest, budget friendly way to visit St. Tropez fromNice for the day? I see a boat trip for $114.00 Cdn funds that takes you at 9:00 am and returns at 4:30. Is this the best way?
Thank you!

Easiest and budget friendly may not coexist. The ferries are easy (seasons permitting). You can take a train to San Raphael and then a bus (7601) from the Gare Routiere near the station. It's a long journey. You can also rent a car.
Once you arrive by train in Saint Raphael, you can also walk a few blocks over to the port and take a boat shuttle to Saint Tropez. Anything to avoid the giant traffic jam along the coast from Saint Raphael to Saint Tropez. Multiple daily sailings in season.

The coastal train seemed to be the best option to get up and down the coast, both for speed and cost. It stops at every station, however, so it's not fast. The traffic in the area would make me avoid driving (except to get up off the coast). I only went as far west as Cannes and as far east as Menton. St. Tropez felt a little far for a day trip when I was in the area.
Brad, there are no trains to St Tropez. That's why people are suggesting the boat as a way to avoid the horrible traffic jams on the road in (which the locals have no interest in ameliorating, because their target market arrive by private helicopter or floating gin palace).
