Day tours from Bordeaux to visit wineries

Hello -

I am looking for a small group tour to visit 2 or 3 wineries. Private tours are too expensive but I don't want to be with a large group. Would prefer maybe 8-10 people. Would love to know of any companies you could recommend.

Thank you!
Lyn

We've used Rustic Vines tours (https://rusticvinestours.com/) and loved them. I've done both the bicycle tour and the "van" tour with visiting friends. They do a very good job of picking wineries and with the full day tour they offer a delicious lunch (there are half day choices and other lunch choices as well.) Additionally, you can chose the wine region you'd like to visit. Enjoy your visit to this charming part of France!

We have used Ophorus to visit both the Left Bank and Right Bank regions, and I recommend them. Eight people, which I think is about perfect, in Mercedes vans. Very comfy.

Ophorus or Bordeaux Wine Trails will both offer options. Fair warning, they tend to visit the same wineries, so just pick one if you go that route.

Bordeaux can easily be done without a guide. Saint-Emilion is easily accessible by train, Pessac Leognan is easily accessible by bike, and there are two wineries within the city of Bordeaux which can be visited. I always recommend people take a look at Sauvistication (https://sauvistication.com/planning-chateaux-visits/). It will teach you how to navigate on your own.

Safe Travels!

Stefan, merci beaucoup for your suggestions. We'll try to take advantage of your knowledge this summer. Hope to visit Château Pichon Comtesse! I think we'll try to do train followed by foot travel to Margaux and Pauillac châteaux, even though we'll have a car.
