We are on the Uniworld river cruise from Lyon to Avignon in early June. We especially wanted to experience truffle hunting but see nothing available. Does anyone have suggestions of places to contact?

I've never heard of truffles in the Rhone Valley. They are usually found further west in the Périgord. If you find a tour, please come back to share.
