Date night in Paris

We are travelling to Paris with another family and our kids. Each family is going to take all the kids for one night so that each set of parents can have a date night. So, my husband and I have one night on our own. We are travelling in July, staying in the 14th in a townhouse. We can easily get around on the metro though, so location is not a big deal to us. We are not foodies, so usually choose restaurants based on atmosphere over food quality. We love to sit outside in Paris while dining. We'd love to see some live music, too. We love jazz. Price is not a huge consideration since it is our one date night. Any recommedations for a romantic night out? Thanks!

Grab the metro to Hotel deVille, walk across at, say, Pont Notre Dame, browse books if that's of interest at Shakespeare and Co, then sit outside at Le Petit Chatelet for a nice long dinner. After dinner, walk to Caveau de la Hachette for live Jazz and dancing. After that, walk in Paris.
You could also start from the side you are staying on and walk through Luxembourg Gardens on the way to dinner. We missed Caveau de la Hachette last year, but intend to be there this year.

Have fun!

Great! Hopefully others will chime in too. I have read that there are some pretty great dancers that show up at La Caveau, but there's the music too and folks like me may just watch. We'll be back in September.
Here's some other clubs, too: http://www.timeout.com/paris/en/jazz-clubs-and-bars

Anyone else have an idea for a great date night in Paris?

Yep, Dave nailed it... and walking there through the Luxembourg Gardens is perfect.
