Dali, Ceret, Collioure and Spain

I'm spending this week in Collioure and drove to Figueres, Spain on Tuesday to see the Dali museum and then to Ceret to see the modern art museum. It turned out that the Ceret museum is showing a Dali exhibit that I enjoyed more than what was in Spain. If you are planning something similar this summer, I would consider skipping the museum in Spain.

On a related aside, and recognizing that this is subjective, I found the Dali museum to be an unpleasant experience. I've been to museums all around Europe and the United States and I've never in my life been as eager to leave a place as I was at the Dali museum. It is just too small for the hords of selfie taking people they cram into it.

Yogi Berra saying: "Nobody goes there, it is too crowded." Sure, the Figueres museum is crowded, and many of the most famous works are housed elsewhere, and you may have to wait in line. I was charmed by the old tantalizer anyhow, and had not expected to be.
