D-day tours which one?

We are looking at Bayeux Shuttle or Overlords and can't decide which to book. Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks

The two companies I've noticed being mentioned most often on this forum are Overlord and Dale Booth. I haven't seen a negative comment about either one. That doesn't mean Bayeux Shuttle is inferior; a quick Google review looks good.

We went with Overlord (actually booked through Viator.com).
It was wonderful!!! Our young guide was so very knowledgeable about all of the D-Day areas (not just the beaches and cemeteries, - but several small towns with significant history of D-Day events.)
We used the same tour guide and company for tour of Mont St. Michel - both were excellent !!!

We booked directly with Overlord and took their all day tour of the American beaches and were very satisfied with it. THey also do half day tours and a tour of the British/Canadian beaches.

I suppose which tour to choose depends to some extent on your budget and the type of tour you want. Overlord Tour offers half-day as well as full-day tours, so that provides customers with more choice. They seem to be very well reviewed by members on this forum. I've never travelled with Bayeux Shuttle so can't comment.

A few comments on some of the others.....

Whichever tour you choose, I'd suggest booking as soon as you have your dates finalized!

I stayed at the Hotel Churchill and did the full day Overlord tour and really enjoyed it.The hotel is 300 feet from the Shuttle pickup Point.

In April 2017 We did a full day tour of the American sector with Bayeux Shuttle that was wonderful. Group size was small and while we had a schedule to follow our guide never made us feel rushed as if we were dashing from place to place. Another plus is that they own the location where lunch is served (included in the price). Food is waiting when you arrive so no time is wasted placing orders.

We took Overlord "Band of Brothers" tour in 2015...would highly recommend. Knowledgeable and interesting. Not too large of a group, too.

We booked with bayeuxshuttle. Besides recommended by RS, they are rated highly on Trip Advisor. That said, we booked with them because they had the only seats available when we plan to be in Normandy. RS encourages reservations well in advance of any Eiffel Tower visit. I'd encourage anyone planning a Normandy tour to book ASAP, too. I contacted many more than a dozen guides (who willingly provided names and contact info of their colleagues), all of whom were already booked. Our visit is in mid-May, and I was booking seven weeks ahead of our visit.

The tighter your schedule is, and the more people in your travel party, the earlier you'll need to pre-book. As a solo traveler I was able to get a spot on an Overlord tour with just a few day's notice in mid-July last year, but I was able to provide a range of at least 4 or 5 dates that would work for me. I may have been very lucky.

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions. We have booked the full day Overlords tour for our Fall trip to France!
