D-Day Full Days Tours Originating in Bayeux/Bayeux Hotel

Would appreciate recommendations for full day D-Day tours originating in Bayeux and hotel accommodations in Bayeux. Also, can you tell me about what time I could expect to be back at the train station following the tour for scheduling a train to Paris.

Off the top of my head, Overlord and Dale Booth Tours get excellent marks. I think there are several others. Try putting "D-Day Tours" in the search box at the top of the page. Dale Booth was our favorite. I think we were done with the tour between 4-5, but check with the tour. We stayed at the Hotel d'Argouges and loved it. Other like the Churchill.

My Overlord Tour ran quite a bit later. I don't remember exactly, but it may have been between 6 and 6:30 PM when we got back to Bayeux. I'd suggest contacting both Overlord and Dale Booth to see what they say. Overlord, at least, has a number of different full-day itineraries, and it's possible that they vary a bit in their running time. I took the standard American tour; don't remember what it was called, but not "The Battle of the Hedgerows".

We've been in contact with Overlord about our upcoming tour. They've been VERY helpful by email. So, they could probably give you all the info you need.

We took a fabulous tour with Sylvan Kast. He's extremely knowledgeable and easy to work with on a tour. http://www.d-day-experience-tours.com/ As far as hotels in Bayeaux, check out Hotel Particulier Poppa. It's easy walking distance to the center of town; view of the cathedral; large, beautiful rooms with a great price point; very good breakfast. The best part are that Philippe and Sophie are amazing hosts who go out of their way to ensure that your stay is memorable. https://www.hotel-poppa.com/en/home/

We stayed five nights at Hotel Reine Mathilde and took Dale Booth's two-day American sites tour back in 2013. Highly recommend both of them.

We stayed several nights at Logis Les Remparts Bayeux. Quite nice, good location, also ample parking out the front door (we had a car, this was a plus). We toured the battlefields on our own so can’t offer any suggestion. We did enjoy dinner twice at L’Assiette Normand restaurant close to our lodgings. Reasonable, nice meals, and very accommodating staff. Safe travels.
