We are back in Georgia a little less than 3 hours from Augusta and The Masters golf tournament and the azaleas and spring are in full bloom. Our trip to France was epic, going from Paris to Normandy, to Loire valley, to Burgundy, to Alsace and Champaign, returning home from Paris. We saw iconic landmarks, historic sites, beautiful landscapes, amazing art. We ate great food and had great wine. For us it was a "bucket list" trip celebrating more than 40 years together. All that said Melanie and I both agree that our day spent with you was the most memorable and fun day we had on the trip.
On a blustery day on Omaha beach with a rainbow over the American Cemetery and views up and down the coast of the D-Day landing beaches, your drawing in the sand detailing the stories of the D-Day operations was outstanding. You have a gift for story telling and connecting with people. Your experience as a combat veteran, along with your extensive knowledge of history, supported by your media (pictures & videos) on your tablet really brought alive the experience of D-Day. Getting to hear the National Anthem & Taps at the American Cemetery along with the poignant stories of those interred, was very moving.
While your historical knowledge and story telling were excellent, we were even more impressed by how spontaneous the tour felt, you may have given hundreds of tours but we felt as though you wanted us to truly enjoy the day. You made sure to surprise us we things we hadn't seen or read about before. You shared your sense of curiosity and making discoveries about all the history of the Normandy area. The day seemed to fly by. The "Da Vinci code", Knights Templar markings and signs were fascinating. Sneaking up a hidden spiral staircase, inside a medieval church, by the light of cell phone, felt like a scene right out of Indiana Jones, and was beyond anything we expected at the beginning of the day.
You clearly have a passion for learning & discovery and you made us feel part of that journey. In short order, we felt like we were spending the day not with a guide, but with a friend.

I guess I’m slightly confused. Did you do multiple days with “Chris at Visitday” or was it a one day tour? You’d mentioned in previous threads that you planned to do Mont-Saint-Michel so I guess I’m assuming that’s where you had the hidden spiral staircase and maybe the Knights Templar markings?
Not MSM, tour was from 8:30am to 6pm and Chris took us to top of Church. Chris is working on offering a Da Vinci code tour he showed us some of the Knights templar sites. We very highly recommend Chris!
