D-D Tours = HQ Company Tours

My husband & I took an amazing tour of Omaha & Utah beaches (sprinkled with additional stops along the way) with HQ Company Tours. Our guide, Yannick Sterke, has an extensive background in World War II history, having focused on this topic during his tourism training & from his work at the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer. Also, he speaks excellent English having spent a year in London perfecting his language skills.
From the moment we met, Yannick & my husband talked non-stop during our private tour. We had limited days in Bayeux to book a tour, it was late in the touring season, so we were thrilled to schedule this tour.
We were compelled to share our experience with HQ Company Tours, due to the background of our guide, Yannick, but also because it’s a small company (four guides) & been in operation for 9-10 years. Actually, HQ Company Tours should be added to RS Normandy Tour book. If anyone has questions about this tour group give me a text.

This looks great. I just posted a question on the Forum regarding private tours in Normandy. This is a terrific recommendation.
May I ask where did you stay? Did you travel from Paris? How did you get to your destination, I'm assuming it was Bayeaux?

We had been in the UK, so we took Brittany Ferries from Portsmouth, UK to Caen, France (5 hours - no car, so we were considered walkers) & caught a taxi to Bayeux. The taxi was a bit more than I thought, but we didn’t want to take a bus at the end of the day.
We stayed at a unique AirBnB in Bayeux. Centrally located, near the Bayeux Cathedral. We wanted the opportunity to cook & needed some space to spread out (we’d been traveling for 6 weeks). I can look up that info if you like. I’d focus on finding a place near the Bayeux Information Center as they were very helpful. It’s unfortunate but the Bayeux Tapestry Museum is closed for renovations. Also, we took a full day tour to Saint Mont Michel & had an excellent experience w Adrian from Normandy Sightseeing Tours.
We took a train from Bayeux to Paris (Charles de Gaulle Airport). Due to our early morning flight, we stayed at Hotel Novotel right at the airport & used the airport shuttles to move from train to airport.
Please let me know if you need more specific info.

Our family also had the pleasure of meeting Yannick.
We booked a private tour with pick up in Rouen and drop off in Bayeux.
It was worth every euro and a highlight of our 2024 summer trip.

There are frequent trains between Bayeux and Caen, too. Glad you had a good time!

We also used HQCompany and my son and daughter in Iaw just used them in April. Both of us had a private tour with Yannick, it was a fantastic expedience and I have recommended them on here before. We took.train from.Paris.to.Bayeau and taxis were.waiting at the train . station both couples stayed at Villa Aggarthi and it was wonderful. It is located a block of two from plenty of restaurants and the breakfast consisted of fresh eggs from her backyard!! Also on site parking when my son drove there. We had an incredjble.time and you will too I am sure.
