I am looking at two self-guided cycling tours right now. One has a four night home-base in Hyeres and cycles out from there every day and then takes you to Nice (by train) for a two night stay and a day of cycling to Antibes. The other takes you through Saint Raphael, Le Lavandou, La Croix Valmer and Sainte-Maxime. We have cycled a lot and don't mind the hotel changes. My question is which route would be a better experience? I cannot tell if we would want to be in Hyeres for that many nights or not. There is the option of cycling the island nearby as well. We do prefer a "local" experience and prefer to be where there are options for great food and local charm.
Thank you.
