Cycling around Lake Annecy in early winter

Hi i will be in Annecy in a few weeks and i have read about people leisure cycling around Lake Annecy.

May i know if the bicycle lanes are shared with the main road? I am concerned about safety of course.

Also, any good cycle companies to recommend? Thank you

About one third of the way around the lake is shared with moderate traffic, all on the eastern side. Do a round-trip on the western side if that is a concern. Can't advise about bike rental, and don't get your hopes too high since winter conditions can be unpleasantly wet and cold.

In 1979, I rented a bike from the train station and rode to Talloires. So, a lifetime ago, as a young teen, I am pretty sure that part was on the main road, and hilly.

I would not want to bike the eastern side of the lake, although there were quite a few who did. The western side is a bike designated path, mostly level with many places to pull off and explore. We got lunch at a boulangerie in Duingt. We rented our bikes from Yakapedaler near the water front in Annecy. I think your only concern will be the weather. Have fun!

Thank you all for the kind advice. I’ve completed my trip but unfortunately it was raining heavily on the day we wanted to cycle. Spent the day walking the lake using ponchos
