Cycling around Annecy lake

For me and my 10 years old kid I would like to rent bikes to cycle. We are used to ride around 10-12 KM on flat terrain.

I read that Talloires is one of the scenic spots. So thought of cycling Annecy to Talloires and back which is 24 km. My questions:

  • is the way flat and no cars?

  • would it be better taking E-bike or regular bike?

  • do you know a store that can I rent in Annecy and returnin other place?

  • Any alternatives?

It is around mid May

Hi. We've been to Annecy twice, really nice, scenic, user friendly spot, very touristy, but plenty of room to spread out. We did leisurely biking about ten years ago and really enjoyed it. We rented from shop in town, just do online research for that. We rode on the west side of the lake to Duingt; nice bike path. Just ride as far as you feel comfortable and then turn around. Enjoy!!

I walked a good bit of the way toward Talloires and took a bus the rest of the way. I remember the walk as being basically flat, as far as I went, which would be typical on a lakefront. I think Talloires isn't pancake-flat, but I've just Googled for photos, and it looks like the terrain won't be an issue for you

I don't remember dodging motor vehicles during my walk. I may have been on a sidewalk, but I think there's a good chance you'll have a bike trail to use. It sounds like biking around the lake will not be a problem: https://www.theplanetedit.com/cycling-lake-annecy/

Boat rides on the lake are nice, too.
