Culinary tour in the Dordogne

I'm hoping to take a two to two-and-a-half week trip to France next year. So far, I've settled on one week in Provence, based near Noves, which appears to be within convenient driving distance of many wonderful towns and villages that we'll enjoy exploring. We may add 3 nights in the French Alps (Chamonix and Annecy). I'd love to spend the rest of the time in the Dordogne region, and would be especially interested in finding a small-group culinary tour there, not just a "food and wine" tour enjoying the fine cuisine of the area, paired with wine, but a tour where there are at least 3 to 4 hands-on cooking classes, shopping in the open markets, visits to local producers, etc. Has anyone taken such a tour in the Dordogne?

A few miles south of Beynac is La Tour De Cause chambre d'hote. It's run by two Belgian chefs and it is exquisite. I'm sure they would be pleased to share their culinary knowledge of the area and point you to any classes you might be interested in.

If you are interested in the culinary possibilities in the Dordogne area, you might want to check out the website below. The website belongs to Martin Walker, the author of the Bruno series of mysteries which are set in the Dordogne region.

And try to read a couple of the Bruno novels too. Not great literary works but full of Dordogne life mixed in with murders and such. Bruno is not only police chief but an accomplished cook, and in each book there are a few drawn-out passages detailing how he prepares a dinner for his friends or some other creation. The pace slows waaaay down as the feast is prepared, and the reader gets hungry.
