Hubby and are on cruise stop in October in Villefranche. 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
We are deciding what to do.
Thinking of going to Eze first then to Nice and back to Villefranche.
We are not into museums just want to soak up the culture, food and scenery. Looking for suggestions or ideas.
Thanks in advance.
Villefranche is nice in itself with a decent beach. You will be tendered as there is no dock there big enough for a cruise ship. . Bus and train service is only a couple of blocks north of the beach area.
Go to Antibes and Nice. Have lunch in Nice’s Old Town. Walk the Promenade.
Spend time in Villefranche too although the crowds from your ship may be a problem. Maybe wait until they leave for other places. It really is a pretty town. If you decide to eat in villefranche, look at Le Cosmo.
Good suggestions above. Another option is to take the bus from Villefranche sur Mer to Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild on St Jean Cap Ferrat. The gardens are lovely and they have a terrace restaurant with good views. Or take the bus to Beaulieu sur Mer and walk on the Promenade Maurice Rouvier with spectacular views to St Jean Cap Ferrat. You can connect to the promenade behind Hotel Royal Riviera. Or you could take the bus from Villefranche sur Mer to Monaco and see the Palace and the Oceanography Museum and have lunch at the Cafe de Paris by the Casino. We love Villefranche sur Mer itself with its waterfront cafes and charming streets and beautiful shale beach. The Citadel there is interesting also. You may wish to return to Villefranche in the afternoon so that you have plenty of time to get to your ship.
