COVID test prior to flying

It seems that if you are vaccinated and have proof of vaccination you do not need a test prior to flying out of the USA to France....I have checked with Myturn and other government agencies and I believe this is correct....any other input to this would be helpful
thank you

That is right.

You will need one to come back to the United States, however.

Yes, you are correct. What I don't know yet, but need to find out before we leave 8/27 is whether the airline itself is requiring a negative test for the vaccinated.

Correct - for now.

This can change quickly according to where the USA lands on the risk classification, and every country approaches this differently. Germany just put the US back on the High-risk list which means tests for the unvaccinated and possible quarantines. The French are likely to follow suit in putting the US back on the high risk list.

So... check back frequently as your travel date approaches.

Response to Diane: Air France is not requiring PCR tests for the vaccinated as of now. In order to board the plane in the US, you will need your CDC vax card, the attestation form that you download and fill out, and - this is the BIG one - you would be well advised to obtain a Pass Sanitaire through the Ministere des affaires Etrangeres website. They issue you a QR code.

You are not required at present to have this to board the aircraft, but you will need the Pass Sanitaire in France to do just about everything including access hotels, restaurants, venues, train travel, and euro air travel as of rules that went into effect August 9th. The French are very serious about enforcing this pass and businesses that fail to scan the Pass face huge fines of $45,000 Euro. Your CDC card is no longer enough to get you in most places.

Once you obtain the Pass Sanitaire QR code by email, you can load that into the #tousanticovid phone app so the entry control can quickly scan it. A paper copy of the QR code is also acceptable. There have been issues with the QR codes not scanning from time to time, so you need to have your CDC card and your passport handy to present as backup information.

keep in mind if you're flying THROUGH another airport as a passenger, you have to ensure you comply with their rules, too. So if Portugal's are different from France's, you have to ensure you follow their rules.
