If it's raining where are the covered areas for shopping? Someone said "Passages" but can't find this anywhere.
I've heard there are a couple of indoor malls - where might they be?
thanks!
Here's a link to an article about them:

The passages are all over Paris and they are really wonderful. We discovered them years ago and have our favorites.I collect hand tinted French postcards and there are some wonderful postcard stores in some of the passages . You will probably need a map. We use the map in a little book called Paris par arrondissement. The passages we love are in the 2nd arrondissement. We take the metro to the Place de la Bourse where the stock exchange is and then find rue Feydeau north of the place de la Bourse. It is a tiny street. There you will find the entrance to the passage Panoramas . Great little shops....go to end...it turns into passage jouffrey across the street...continue and it turns into passage verdeau. There are many neat shops and restaurants, tea rooms, and arty little places...a lot of fun.If you continue to the end you wind up on a major street and can take the metro back to where you started. If you google passages in Paris you can find many passages. Another passage close to the Bourse is Passage Colbert and Vivienne. They are south of the Bourse...about a block.
I came across information on passages online in a piece called "A Touch of Glass: 7 Slightly Secret Covered Passageways in Paris". It was sourced from Frommer. My wife was convinced I did not know what I was talking about last time so we did not hunt them down. Next time will be different. If you Google 'a touch of glass paris' , it will pop up. Have a great trip.
Come rain or come shine, we'll be there! Thanks all for great info, and lkneale for a great question.
