Cour Cheverny

Friends TA has us stopping in the town/village.
Staying@ Relais Des Tori’s Chateaux
I know it’s near several chateaux but can’t find any info on the town- restaurants, what to do-after seeing the chateaux etc.
Anyone have any info on town or hotel

The Relais des Trios Châteaux is in Cheverny (near Château Cheverny), located between Blois and the Château Chambord. I first dined at the Trois Marchands, the well-known restaurant associated with the hotel, over 30 years ago. It was and continues to be one of the finest restaurants in the region. I would not miss the opportunity to eat here, be sure to reserve well in advance.

Visiting the 3 châteaux (Blois, Cheverny, and Chambord) will take most of the day. One could easily spend the evening in the restaurant.

There's not a lot to do in Cour Cheverny. The hotel is about half a mile from the chateau of Cheverny, which may or may not be open in the evening, depending when you're there. There are some nice walks around the village, but they will only take you 15 minutes or so.

I know nothing about the hotel - until I read your comment I had no idea there was a hotel Trois Châteaux - and I am in Cheverny at least once a week. I haven't dined at La Trois Merchands, although friends who have eaten there say it's very old fashioned.

My favorite restaurant is the Vielle Auberge, across the road from where you will be, although it mainly concentrates on lunches. Chez Madeline (on the ring road) is also good.

We rented a house for a week in Cour Cheverny 20+ years ago. While it was a convenient base, I didn't remember anything particularly interesting about the village itself.
