Hello, appreciate any insights on staying in Corte vs. Bastelica for 2 nights in May. We plan to do hiking during our time in this region.
Also any recommendations on restaurants in the area are also appreciated. Thank you!

I can't comment on Bastelica, but we found Corte to be a great location to be based for hiking, particularly for La Vallée de la Restonica. It's a nice place to walk around at night as well. Unfortunately I can't remember where we ate.

Thank you, Cat! You shared some specific hiking suggestions on an earlier post of mine. Very much appreciated! I think we will go with Corte. Do you recall where you stayed? We have a reservation at Si Mea.

You are very welcome! We stayed at Hôtel Sampiero Corso, which was very basic but clean and well-located. We chose it for the price and it was a good budget option.

If I could trouble you with one more question … what are your thoughts on staying closer to or “in”
Corte vs somewhere a bit outside of town? We too will be hiking during the days.

This is a personal preference, but I would stay in the town as it's so nice to walk around in the evening and you're close to restaurants etc. If you have a car it's easy to get to the hiking. The Vallée de la Restonica has a big car park at the start of the trail.
