Corsica vs Sardinia or both?

We are thinking of an island trip in March 2025 to celebrate our 50th anniversary and would appreciate any thoughts about these two locations. We aren't beach people but like to walk, learn the history of a place, eat great food, relax, drink coffee, enjoy picturesque views, etc.

Are these islands expensive, windy, hard to navigate, difficult to get to, etc. We would likely rent a car.

Many thanks!

I am obsessed with both, things to ponder:
Could you go later? From my research, I get the strong impression of a strong seasonal aspect for Sardinia at least, and even if you will not be frequenting beach resorts, I would want ideal weather. I would try to go in May or September.
How long do you have? I would tend toward one or the other, unless you have several weeks.
You can look at flying to a main city like Milan and then taking a separate flight over, or you can check flights to both islands. I know Lufthansa has flights to Sardinia, but these are also somewhat limited outside of summer.
I am sure there are some hairy roads, but a car is definitely the way to go.

For a March visit, you might look at the islands of Malta which, being further south, enjoy nicer weather that time of year. You can read a bit about the fascinating history, culture and attractions in the HF Holidays brochures (which I offer for information purposes and photos, not to entice you to sign up for one of their holiday weeks). These programs are offered in February and March, with an eye to more sunshine than other parts of Europe.
