Corsica to Rome in August

Flights seem expensive between these two places but trying to see both. I found the ferries from Bastia to Livorno that take around 3hr ( any other faster/cheaper options?) but when trying to get train from Livorno to Rome the cheapest regional train looks to be already sold out and only thing left is more expensive (40 Euro pp) and longer ride at 3.5 instead of 3 hr. Am I missing something? Will cheaper rates be available closer to travel date? Are there better ways to travel this route? Thx

Due to a schedule change on June 10, many mid-speed and regional trains in Italy are not yet for sale past that date. Try again in June, when options should be similar (not really seasonal). For the flights, try www.skyscanner.com.

fyi, regional trains don’t sell out since they have no reserved seating. If the train is very crowded you could have trouble finding a seat or dealing with your baggage.
