Surprising my wife an anniversary trip to Corsica.
1) Regarding beautiful Corsica, which two towns are recommended as bases that have close proximity to day hikes and beaches (we enjoy day hikes up to 8 miles). Initial research has these towns as possibilities: Porto, Calvi, Ajaccio, Corte or Porto-Vecchio. Or do you have another suggestion as far as towns/locations?
2) planning to rent a car; how accurate are Google drive times? For instance, drive time from Calvi to Bastia is listed as 1 hour and 44 minutes, and Bastia to Bonifacio is listed as 2 hours and 38 minutes. We were in Sardinia in September and the Google times were not always accurate.
3) any day hikes you highly recommend?
