Connections in CDG onto Vienna

The other day we bought tickets on Delta from "da Burgh" -JFK-Paris-Vienna. We have a 1 hour 35 minute layover in CDG to make the connection with Air France to Vienna. After extensive travel in Europe this is the first time to make a connection onto our primary destination. My question is: where do we clear passport/customs? In Paris upon arrival or in Vienna? Or both?

Buon viaggio and thanks in advance.

France and Austria are both in Schengen and the EU, so a flight from Paris to Vienna is treated like a 'domestic' flight.

You will go through passport control when you land in Paris. This can take some time, but since you have done this as a through booking, it is the airline's problem to make it feasable.
You luggage should be checked through to Vienna. You can confirm this at check-in. Your luggage will go through customs at Vienna. This is a matter of walking through either the green "nothing to declare", or the red "something to declare" channel. Your fellow passengers who got on in Paris will have their luggage marked so they can by-pass customs.
But no passport control in Vienna, thank's to the Schengen Treaty.
