Connecting Flights...do I have time?

I am going to be traveling through Europe in June, and at the tail end, I'll be flying from Vienna to Paris (Charles de Gaulle) using Air France, and then getting on my Emirates flight back to Kuala Lumpur.

Editing my previous post...if I land at Charles de Gaulle at 5:10pm, with my next flight at 9:50pm...that would give me over 4.5 hours. I would arrive on Air France, and then depart on Emirates, so it's not a connecting flight...and I am flying Business Class on both flights (which can help with baggage arrival and check in).

Would the 4.5 hours be adequate?

Any help would be appreciated.

If this is not on one ticket you really need to fly into Paris the night before. And in no case should you have less than 4 hours between arrival and ongoing flight with separate tickets. This is not a connection if done on two separate tickets. You need to be in line for check in in Paris 3 hours ahead of your ongoing flight. It would be tight if it were on one ticket, but you would be protected by the airline if you missed the flight. If you are arriving have to collect luggage and then check in and go through security there is no way an hour would be possible.

Recommend you get an earlier flight from Vienna

How long you wait at the baggage carousel is the least of your issues.

Our friends on an Austrian Air flight between Paris and Vienna had the flight cancelled fifteen minutes before boarding while they waiting at the gate. They were re-booked for the next day.
Janet is correct: you need to fly in way earlier if the flights aren't linked, or have a good trip insurance policy. If AF is delayed or cancelled, would you be able to contact Emirates to be put on the next day's flight, or would you lose your return and have to pay out-of-pocket to get to Kuala Lumpur?

Emirates flies out of Vienna to Dubai and then on to Kuala Lumpur. Prices look quite reasonable. Why bother going to Paris for a flight that still requires a Dubai stop?

If you are flying Business Class, your tickets are presumably "refundable" eliminating the financial risk inherent with non-refundable economy tickets. Worst case would be rebooking the Emirates.

I think Southam has the simple solution, IF you can re-book to fly Emirates from Vienna.

Eliminating the trip to Paris, removes the drama, which is a good thing when flying.
