Concarneau

It is a little over a year since we were in Concarneau. I realized I had not properly thanked those who provided input for this portion of our trip. I was reminded to do so as I am reading another Dupain mystery that takes place there. I particularly want to say how much I appreciated the recommendation to have lunch at Cafe du Port. It was a perfect recommendation. The restaurant was lovely, the food was great and the location provided a perfect after lunch stroll through a beautiful, elegant neighborhood to the mouth of the Odet river and back to town along its banks. Perfect day. Thank you for suggesting it.

Hi I suppose you are speaking of the café du port in st Marine, just in front of Bénodet ?

It really is a very good restaurant, and the location is superb. Given the name "Café du Port," one might expect a different kind of place—something a bit more modest—but it has kept the name from the old days. I remember it from the time when it was a true "café du port" back in the 1970s, run by an elderly lady who sold fishing gear and beach supplies alongside the glasses of red wine she served to fishermen at the counter 😄!
