I understand you have to buy the combo ticket from the Musee de l’Orangerie. My question is, after you select a timed entry for the Orangerie does it take you to the Orsay website to buy a timed ticket for the Orsay? We will be in Paris in May and know it will be busy so I’m hoping to get my tickets now.
Thank you.
I have found the answer to my question. I contacted the Musee de l’Orangerie and they said the combo ticket can only be bought on site at either museum, not online.
That is so interesting, Marlene, thank you for sharing this information. I thought the combo ticket didn't exist any more since for the past few years I have not been able to find anything about it on either website.
So - it still exists, but I don't see how it is very helpful for people. If you can only get it physically at the Orangerie, that keeps yup from being able to reserve a time at the Orsay until you are already in Paris, if I understand correctly.
I bought the combo ticket, the "Carte Blanche" for both places, as i wanted to see d'Orsay without waiting too long in line. It affords the "skip the line" advantage for those two museums only. The Carte Blanche can be bought online. I did two weeks ago. The contact email is in the "form" you download to apply. Go to the d'Orsay site. Then email them directly and ask for applying online. It was $79 for two people (duo). They replied quickly and the process was smooth.
For the online purchase do you need to bring a photo to museum?
I noticed that it mentions "don't forget to affix your photo for carte blanche."
Does d' Orsay now require advance tickets?
I have always bought tickets at the door upon arrival.
